HOW YOU CAN HELP

The C Group looks to its members, their associates and contacts for support in two specific and vital areas; Fund-Raising and Value in Kind donations.
Fund-Raising is essential to meet grant requests in support of projects which cannot be wholly funded from other sources. For example, The C Group was approached to provide support for Project FORTITUDE's Khumbu Challenge 2009, an ambitious Himalayan based Adventure Training project for rehabilitation of the war-wounded. A grant of £16,000 was awarded to fund research and development into the production of prosthetic limbs for extreme environments, which are very different from the prosthetics which are normally available. This research will have on-going benefits to successive ventures for years to come. We have again been approached by Project FORTITUDE with a request for support for Khumbu Challenge 10 and are pleased to have been able to grant £6,000 to help subsidise transport and travel costs for the next Himalayan project which will take place this autumn.
The C Group runs a series of events and forums to continue to inform the current Group and to recruit new members and number of events geared specifically to fund-raising are held each year. A Regimental Dinner held at RMB Stonehouse in May 2009, in the presence of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, raised over £60,000 and we hope to exceed this amount with our next Annual Fund-Raising Regimental Dinner which will be held on 15 October at Sandy Park, Exeter.
Value in Kind donations are sought primarily in response to specific requests, or the particular circumstances of one or a group of individuals. A number of such appeals have now been made and, as a result, placements have been made in the management sector of the construction industry and the outdoor industry; training courses for the outdoor and off-shore oil industries have been provided and specialist equipment for the Rehabilitation Troops has been provided.
Appeals for help include:-
-
Temporary or permanent provision of goods or services to facilitate a particular event or project.
-
Coaching and Mentoring services.
-
Careers advice
-
Work Experience and Training
-
Permanent Work Placements
-
"Fun" days out, which do much to relieve the tedium and depression which inevitably sets in during protracted recovery and rehabilitation programmes.
In addition to the provision of both financial and material support, The C Group relies heavily on its members to promote its aims and mission throughout their wider business networks. Our capabilities are reliant upon the specific talents and varied inputs of our members, and our goals can only be realised by the establishment of a focused group of diverse individuals who share the same vision, supporting those in need through their specific roles and network of contacts within the business community.
