Saturday 20 November 2010
'Eternal Voices' is a prestigious joint charity concert to be given by Exeter Festival Chorus & The Band of Her Majesty's Royal Marines, Commando Training Centre Royal Marines. The performance is being held in aid of Royal Marines' Charities and to be a memorial to Royal Marines and their families affected by the current armed conflicts, those of the past, and those of the future.
It will take place in Exeter Cathedral on Saturday 20 November, 2010, and will feature the world premiere of a specially commissioned work, whose title Eternal Voices gives its name to the concert. 'Eternal Voices', the work at the heart of the concert, is an apolitical piece created by the renowned composer Adam Gorb and the librettist Ben Kaye. It explores the emotional relationships of soldiers and their wives, husbands, children, parents and friends as they struggle to come to terms with the possibility or reality of injury or death in a foreign field.
This high-profile concert will have an enormous appeal to local audiences, as the current conflicts touch the lives and feelings of very many people in the South West region. Further information, sponsorship opportunities and tickets are available from www.exeterfestivalchorus.org.uk .
